Abstract

Telisa Webb Schelin is Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for Behringer Harvard, a sponsor of real estate investment programs for institutions and individuals based in Dallas, Texas. Specifically, Schelin serves as General Counsel and Secretary of Behringer Harvard REIT I, Inc., a publicly registered, non-listed real estate investment trust that owns 70 commercial office properties with approximately 25 million in square footage located in 23 states and the District of Columbia.

Schelin is responsible for all legal aspects of Behringer Harvard REIT I, Inc. and is its advisor and property manager. Her responsibilities include corporate governance, public company reporting, securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, lease administration, litigation management, and finance, real estate and commercial business transactions. Schelin graduated from The University of Tulsa College of Law with highest honors in 1998 and also received her B.A. in Political Science from TU in 1995. In 2010, she was recognized by the Dallas Business Journal as one of its "40 Under Forty", which recognizes accomplished executives and entrepreneurs under the age of 40, and was named one of the 10 leading “Women of Influence” by Real Estate Forum magazine.
